Theresa was born and raised in Edmonton, and knows the city well. She’s always on the hunt for new river valley trails to explore, neighbourhoods to walk, or fun coffee shops to try. She spent 7 years in Halifax/Dartmouth where she completed her Masters degree in Land Use Planning and bought her first house. After her two boys were born, she and her husband decided to move back to Edmonton to raise their children close to family.
Theresa has always had a passion for real estate, a drive for entrepreneurship, and a desire to help people. After several of her own experiences buying and selling properties (including a cross-country relocation with young children), she found the experience thrilling, yet felt at ease throughout the process. She recognizes that moving can often be a stressful time in people’s lives, but her ability to listen to her clients and focus on their needs, while thinking three steps ahead, helps her clients feel relaxed and excited for what’s to come.
Theresa loves to spend time outdoors with her family. You can often find her hiking through Terwillegar Park, skiing one of the beautiful trails in the river valley, or camping in one of the provincial or national parks. Always looking for ways to learn a new skill, meet someone new and give back to the community, Theresa is an active volunteer with both her community and her kid’s sport and school programs.
Theresa is happy to have found her real estate home with the Schmidt Realty Group, and loves the collaborative approach and supportive group of agents that the brokerage provides. Valuing honesty, integrity and trust, Theresa is dedicated to her clients and looks forward to helping them start new chapters in their lives.
THERESA’S FAVORITE THINGS…
FAVE VACATION:
Hmm… such a tough question. I’ll have to say a recent camping trip in Grasslands National Park! It’s a hidden gem with stunning landscapes and skyscapes (darkest dark sky preserve in Canada), amazing hiking (that’s far more challenging than you would think) and abundant history and wildlife. Outside of Canada, I’d have to say our backpacking trip through Poland – less touristy than other places in Europe, full of history, delicious food, and amazing hospitality.
FAVE TREAT:
Cinnamon buns (no raisins) or pie (any kind, no raisins)!
FAVE BEVERAGE:
What time of day is it? A lavender latte in the morning, or a glass of wine (or two) in the evening. I’d also take a cold sour beer on a warm summer patio!
FAVE ANIMAL:
My dogs, Shelby and Clara.
FAVE COLOR:
Green – any shade. Reminds me of trees.
FAVE CAR:
Prefer an SUV with heated seats, bluetooth, and a roof rack. I’ll opt for a heated steering wheel next time.
FAVE CONCERT:
Watching Paul McCartney from Citadel Hill in Halifax – July 2009. I wasn’t actually in the concert grounds, but had a perfect view and sound of the show from Citadel Hill overlooking Halifax Commons. It was a very memorable night! Also, can’t go wrong with a David Myles concert – a wonderful entertainer and fun, catchy songs.
FAVE CELEBRITY:
Loving the female leads lately. So many to choose from… Elizabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks, and Linda Cardellini to name a few.
FAVORITE ACTIVITY OUTSIDE OF WORK:
You can find me at the yoga studio or hiking, biking or cross-country skiing the amazing river valley trails with my husband, boys and dogs.
