Born and raised in Edmonton, Garrette McGowan became a household name during his time as co-host on CBC Radio’s Edmonton AM where he was able to showcase his unique blend of sarcasm and dry humour. A graduate of the Broadcast Journalism program at Mount Royal University, Garrette previously worked at a number of Edmonton radio stations and flew twice a day in a helicopter for a bird’s eye view of Edmonton traffic. Perhaps all this time spent cruising overtop of Edmonton houses is what sparked Garrette’s interest in real estate.
Garrette and his family live in Holyrood with their two young children and a sassy dachshund named Rice. Living close to both the downtown core and to Whyte Avenue has given him the opportunity to explore the excellent Edmonton food scene, and Garrette will always have a recommendation for the best place to go in each neighbourhood across town. In addition to exploring all that Alberta has to offer, Garrette and his and his wife love to travel and look forward to doing more of that when their children are older.
In his spare time, Garrette is committed to giving back to this community. He is dedicated to supporting Free Footie, a free sports program for children who face financial or other barriers to play soccer and other sports. He also regularly raises money for both Special Olympics Alberta and the Edmonton Food Bank. A proud Edmontonian, Garrette has a real passion for this city. If you’re looking for an educational and entertaining real estate experience, Garrette would be an excellent choice!
