Neighborhood Profile: Kilkenny

This month we are featuring the neighourhood of Kilkenny! This community is located in the Northeast part of Edmonton and features many activities for growing families, including a new outdoor spray park, several other parks in the area for you to enjoy as well as the Londonderry Fitness and Leisure Center for the colder months. The community also conveniently has the Londonderry Mall for all the shopping enthusiasts. It is in a great location! Downtown is only a 20 minute drive and it’s close to the Anthony Henday so you can get around the rest of the city with ease.  

Most of the homes in this area were built between 1960 and 1980, with the community being completed in 1990. These homes consist mainly of bungalows with detached garages, and some two-storey homes with an attached garage. This neighbourhood is great for growing families thanks to the large lots with generous backyards for children to play!

There were 27 single family homes sold between Feb 1st of 2018 to Jan 31st of 2019 in this neighbourhood, ranging from a low of $200,000 for a side by side duplex to a high of $462,500 for a bungalow with a legal secondary 2-bedroom basement suite. The median price for homes in Kilkenny last year was $315,000 which represents a 4 level split with upgrades.
