Kensington is a mature community situated in north west Edmonton, zone 1. This neighbourhood was annexed by the City of Edmonton in 1913 however, some of the first residential development didn’t occur until the late 1940s. The majority of the homes in the area are single detached bungalows with detached garages which were mostly built in the 1950s and 1960s.
Kensington Park is found on 119 street, including a soccer field, baseball field, Kensington public, elementary and junior high school and Kensington community league which offers sports leagues and memberships with benefits. 132 Avenue can be found on Kensington’s south perimeter where you’ll find amenities. Along Kensington’s north perimeter, 137 Avenue, you’ll find multiple amenites at White Oaks and Kensington Crossing shopping centres including Superstore. In this location you are within close vicinity to Grand Trunk Pool and Arena, a fenced off leash area, Northgate Town Centre, Northgate Shopping Mall, Christy’s Corner, Griesbach Village shopping centre and Twin Willows Golf Club. Public transit is easily accessible as well as quick access to main arterial roads such as Yellowhead Trail, 97 Street, and St. Albert Trail.
